“Dr. Kabaker and two recent fellows (trainees) have published a scientific paper describing certain aspects of the hairline lowering procedure. This paper studied a small number of the many hairline lowering procedures done in Dr. Kabaker's 20 year experience. The emphasis within this paper is the updated technique that Dr. Kabaker presently employs. For those who might be interested in the summary and perhaps the details of the paper, we offer you the following link.”

Featured Patient

Bob came to Dr. Kabaker
when he realized he was
looking older than he felt.
"I really didn't like what I saw
in the mirror", he said. "I just
didn't think that was me!

So how did Dr. Kabaker help?

Featured Procedure - Facelift

Because the face displays the signs of aging more than any other body feature, it is not surprising that so many people have sought treatment to reverse these facial changes. Often, such patients do not want to simply look younger, rather, they want their faces to show the vitality and youthful energy that they feel. View More
Facelift - Test

Example of the face lift test. This shows what a min-lift facelift might do for a prospective patient. It works on the lower cheeks, jaw line and neck for those with the earlier signs of aging. Those with more advanced changes are best served by a standard full facelift which still corrects only the lower cheeks, jaw line and neck.

Welcome to my website. If you are reading this introduction, you may likely have little knowledge of me and my practice. I would therefore like to give you an introduction. You might want to know why you should explore this website further or contact my office for an appointment and consultation.

I OFFER EXPERIENCE AND RESULTS.

Since starting my private practice in 1971, I have acquired extensive experience in facial plastic surgical procedures including hair restoration surgery. Like many Internet plastic surgery websites, I emphasize experience, certification, skills and strong reasons why you should see the practitioner who owns that website. I offer experience that few can match in the procedures I perform. I invite you to read information about my extensive education and training, certifications and long list of educational contributions here. When others refer to their expertise, education, and certification, it is because of surgeons like myself who have been the teachers, lecturers and writers of the articles who have given knowledge and training to others. Having a level of book knowledge is important, but hands-on experience of many years of surgery should be of importance to the prospective patient.

I also want to emphasize that we have an in-office accredited surgical facility that is surveyed every three years by an independent accrediting body, presently, the Institute for Medical Quality. What this means to you is that surgery can be performed safely under local anesthesia, conscious sedation (twilight sleep), or deep general anesthesia within our office. Our office surgery center has been at my present location since 1977 and we have an extremely high safety record. It has been shown that rates of infection are much lower in office surgical facilities than in hospitals due to the fact that we operate only on healthy people. The same is true for serious complications. Our most recent survey was completed on January 31, 2011 and will be valid for 3 more years.

What does an accredited office surgery do for you?

  1. Reasonable facility charges. We annually update our costs in comparison with local outpatient surgical facilities and we can usually deliver procedures with lower total costs.
  2. The safety of an accredited office compared to a non-accredited facility cannot be compared.
  3. The convenience of the surgeon and staff being no more than 40 feet away at any time after surgery.
  4. Privacy and confidentiality are much more likely to be preserved in a small office facility.

Our office facility surgery is probably the longest established one in Northern California and has worked efficiently and effectively for me all these years. The office is in an older building across from Oakland's Summit Alta Bates Medical Center. I take pride in having an unpretentious and efficient office that has a minimum of distracting expensive decorations, but gets to the point of providing safe, effective, and experienced service to our patients.
